Well, here it is 1 a.m. and I've just finished round 2 w/ this html BS, however I wanted to throw up a quick review of the flick as I just came from it not too long ago.
A perfect summertime flick. Good action, quick quips from Mr. Downey, Jr. and some decent tail. I think this was well worth the $10.50 (which sadly, is the norm now). Iron Man was one of my favorites growing up, mainly due to his role in the Marvel vs. Capcom games.
Usually w/ these flicks, it's the character build up that might take some time to get going and then there's a larger climax at the end. This was somewhat the contrary. The build up of Tony Stark and what he was before was pretty dope. I know that they had to modernize the character a bit from the original story, but it fit today's world perfectly. It seems that these movies now are taking a page from the newer Christian Bale "Batman" flicks. Good storytelling on how the main character came to be. I won't ruin for yall, I'd honestly like for yall to go see it.
Action was spot on. I'm a big fan of actual action, i.e. Die Hard flicks, however, the rendering of Iron Man in CGI was dope. I gotta give it to ILM, they're really pushing the envelope w/ a lot of this stuff and it's looking realer and realer. Of course, my main issue w/ most of these flicks is the lack of gratuitous violence. Nothing wrong w/ seeing people get shot, etc., but that's something that we didn't see a whole lot of in this flick. But meh, it still fit things perfectly.
Go out and check it. And for now, I'm off to bed. Tomorrow's my "Friday" and I'm super anxious for this NYC trip.

Mad tight fixes yo
Once again Fort seems to the proverbial ship straightener. Didn't even think to check out some layouts online. So, here's the new joint. Let me know what yall think.
I get type particular when it comes to these things. I needed/wanted something with some style, maybe something a little different. However, it's somewhat greddy, I finally got my Music Quilt to be on here which is key. I'm moving my musical tirades over to the Last FM site. The link's in the quilt, be sure to check that out.
EDIT: I somehow deleted the "Title" tab. I'll work on it.

Does anyone find this as funny as I do? It's the divorce equivalent to Beetlejuice. I'll bet a number of Americans would have a different opinion of Islam knowing this.
Blah, so I'm coming to the realization that my body can't take things much anymore. I was in a haze most of Saturday. Took me forever to get my shit together and then all I wanted to do was take a nap. I gotta get my shit together for this weekend, however.
Big money Italian wedding in LI. I'm really lookin' forward to this trip for multiple reasons. I might go purchase a camera this week just for the event. :o My dad's friend informed me that I'll be sitting at a table w/ nothing but single women. I'll have to play my steez on the low, heh. Maybe the charm and boyish good looks can still kick in. Of course, I'm sure I'll meet someone, from up there, and she'll be dope.
Ah and in typical fashion of me waxing nostalgic, I'll leave yall w/ this. I think that's why I still work at the carwash. The sight of the Countryside shopping center always brings me back:

"Yall are some haters!"
So, apparently we're still in the late 90's and early 00's. Maybe we even go as far as to have a PHD. I thought that this term died at the peak of Springer's popularity, however, I was wrong. Yall girls are a trip. Funny how as soon as we don't like a dude talkin' to a girl, we're haters. However, "She ain't shit" would be quick to follow if the shoe's on the other foot.
Last night was fresh. Mad pictures that I don't have yet however, I'll have to start a flikr account (don't even know about teh spelling). It was "Ladies Night" w/ the crew of New Michelle, Rose and Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jam. I guess it's always had this rep, but Clarendon Ballroom is the White Club in safe ol' VA. Decent spot though. I hadn't danced that much in a while (ah yes, the gin was flowing freely).
The main theme of the night however seemed to fall into the Dating category. New Michelle and myself even spoke as much as to bring up marriage (not her and I). But then there are others who can't get a date, who don't really care much to date, and then don't settle at all. Me? I'm somewhat in all 3. However, it doesn't bug me much as I've got more than enough on the stove of life right now, or maybe that's my justification. :o
Oh and Fort, if you're reading this, I'll need help w/ setting this thing up, as html escapes me:

"Wit 'cho white ass! Ugly mothafucka!"
Now, as a white person, when another white person says a phrase like this, I cannot help but raise an eyebrow. Wouldn't you?
In continuation of yesterday's blog, this was the event that capped the night as we were leaving the bar. We saw a fine specimen of the white trash sector scream this phrase to the bouncer (loosely used) at the bar. She got denied from going in the place to use the bathroom because she was under age (and beyond drunk at that, thanks for checking ID's Washington).
So in true white trash fashion, she threatens to pee on the sidewalk. Myself and everyone I was with was mooned with a pair of granny panties (the fuck?) while she went to bend down. I  people. I might say some dumb shit or act even dumber when drunk, but I cannot fathom whipping it out and pissing on a busy ass street in DC. Course, maybe I've never been that drunk either.
I enjoy making fun of white people, and all people for that matter. I openly use the term "white boy" when speaking about other white dudes and the same goes for "white girl." I dunno that I would talk down to someone and their "white ass" for being white. What would cause you to do that when you're more pale than me, hair is blonder and eyes bluer?
Ah and finally, for those that know me and the fact that I have a computer now. Enjoy the laugh, for those that don't know, put 5 and 1 together.

It's not too often you actually realize you've changed someone's life
This is typically something that comes about at say a funeral.
"X person was so great, they showed me y, and taught me z."
Kinda buggin' when you hear about it in the present. Padilla was in town this weekend (more on this later, I'm on my high horse with this). He told me about his other brother that came out to VA w/ him about 3 years ago. This kid could've been no more than like 19 years old, if that. Well, they came and stayed at the TH where I was living and I had just gotten my turntables. Poor kid, he had barely even SEEN a record, let alone understood how they worked.
After many a beer, we got to jammin'. I only had a few records, less than a crate, but this kid was amazed by these things. The face that a needle reads the physical disc and creates an analog signal. Well, he was hooked. Turns out the the week that he got back to New Mexico, he bought turntables and records. Now, he's DJ'ing up in the Northwest somewhere. Kinda crazy than a chance trip to Northern VA of all places and my humble turntables got that kid hooked for life. Sadly, I suck w/ names, so that's why it's not here. :o
Back to Padilla. It's always good to catch up w/ this guy. Mad jolly all the time and always great to be around. I guess it's the Mexican in him (I cannot control myself w/ the messican jokes). B, Fort, Melissa (original screen name withheld), Padilla and myself kicked it at a bar in DC. Good times had by all. For those that read my original blog, you remember how big of a fan I am of reminiscing, so it was cool to shoot the breeze over a few rounds and kick it w/ good people. Doesn't feel that long, but he moved back quite a few years ago, but he might come back. Hopefully it'll be a good move for him.
There was an even that capped the night in no other way, but I'm going to save that for tomorrow.......
Oh and in honor of the excellent weather today, I'm postin' my summertime jam that puts me in quite a groove.

Well, here it is, I don't know what to tell most of you. I hope that there are the faithful few that came over from me resigning on my MySpace blog (today actually).
For those that don't know, this will be a diary. Come check out what all's going on in life, come see what I've got poppin' for music, come see what movies I am watching. Come see what other thunder cunt wants to come take another coat of mine.
I'll get into my purchase with this new hotness at a later date, but I'm here, so look for a daily on this piece.
I'll leave yall with something that's been in steady rotation as of late, and you know you miss it. It's been 17 years already.....
