So, it's been an interesting week to say the least, I'll start off w/ the good shit, and then go from there.
I had never been to a concert alone before, but due to plans, I forced my own hand (did that a few times this morning already holla!). DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist came back to the US for 7 last shows of the Hard Sell tour and once again, they never disappoint. I saw them back in January and it was amazing. This time around, they had some new shit and yet again a flawless show. The best part, IMO, was the fact that they were still testing out their new shit and they messed up a few times. Just cool to see the amount of hard work that they have to put in just to do a flawless show, and to see them mess up, it just shows that they're human. Kinda cool though, almost like being at a jam session.
The alone thing didn't but though. It was nice, showing up when I want, no need to wait for anyone or anything like that. No disrespect to those that have attended shows with me however. Props to Fort for being the inspiration though, flashback to the Erasure concert he went to when he borrowed the Broncbo late one night. No autographs though. =/ My streak has ended. I had a chance to get some from The Mighty Underdogs, however, I was aiming too high at Chemist and Shadow. Tis okay though.
Ah the alone theme continues.....
So as some of you may know, I've been talking to co-worker of mine over the last few weeks. Things were going great. Key word: were. Girls are fickle I guess, but her being 20 doesn't help much either. Great girl, I somewhat fell for the facade of her acting older than she really is. But, I still do enjoy spending time w/ her. But, she dropped something interesting only after a day or two of chillin' together. No chemistry. Odd, but okay. I think she, like most younger and/or screwed over girls, suffer from a Self Fulfilling Prophecy. They want something to fuck up so bad or are waiting for it, something happens and then their thoughts are justified, leaving them with an easy mental justification. Seen it before, most of you can guess who did that back when, especially with the age of 20 being the theme here.
But live and learn. I said my piece to her today and she realized where I was coming from. Too bad this all took place over text messages. I always snickered at articles regarding the downfall of communication, dismissing them as people that are holding onto the past. However, texts and IM's can really, really botch a situation. You can't tell emotion from one of them, they're only words. Not even a "!" can help. So we'll see where it goes from here. I love the dramatic, so this is going to be an interesting next few weeks. I'll be sure to keep yall posted with everything.
Today I have to attend the service for Aunt Violet and tomorrow the funeral. RIP to Aunt Violet. Funny how things don't hit you until a random thought, vision, etc. comes up and then it's just like, "Damn....." I spent last Sunday evening at the funeral home with cousin John and Ron Sr. What hit me the hardest was seeing John w/ her purse. Man, what a sight. Different things hit different people in totally different manners. We'll miss you Aunt Violet. At least now you're up with Grandma, maybe going at it a bit with one another like old times.
The end to a dramatic week, hopefully things'll even out, they always seem to.

Gay, no embedding, but a good song that always makes me think.
