Repost, but hilarious nonetheless

God, I love the randomness of the internets. It's creepy, albeit hilarious.

First night back in the Broadlands

Kinda funny to be back in my old hood, less than a half mile from where I used to live. I do miss the serenity of this area. Kinda weird to go back outside and hear your cigarette burning again. But, I do miss it. Never thought I would to be honest. Maybe it's just a "new" thing again or something, or just a bit of change. Can never hurt.

We'll see.......

I did drop this track on her though, Rocio told me she hadn't recognized it, but she does like good shit, I'll give her that. She might not know a lot of tracks, but she does like shit when she hears it.

Hopefully this won't be the case....

Funny....

Things just kinda go....

So remember my last post about my coworker? Played that one all wrong. I couldn't be happier with this current outcome. More to come, it's late, but I wanted to post something.

Just because it's random

Leave it up to the Mighty Healthy crew to drop the illness

So, it's been an interesting week to say the least, I'll start off w/ the good shit, and then go from there.

I had never been to a concert alone before, but due to plans, I forced my own hand (did that a few times this morning already holla!). DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist came back to the US for 7 last shows of the Hard Sell tour and once again, they never disappoint. I saw them back in January and it was amazing. This time around, they had some new shit and yet again a flawless show. The best part, IMO, was the fact that they were still testing out their new shit and they messed up a few times. Just cool to see the amount of hard work that they have to put in just to do a flawless show, and to see them mess up, it just shows that they're human. Kinda cool though, almost like being at a jam session.

The alone thing didn't but though. It was nice, showing up when I want, no need to wait for anyone or anything like that. No disrespect to those that have attended shows with me however. Props to Fort for being the inspiration though, flashback to the Erasure concert he went to when he borrowed the Broncbo late one night. No autographs though. =/ My streak has ended. I had a chance to get some from The Mighty Underdogs, however, I was aiming too high at Chemist and Shadow. Tis okay though.

Ah the alone theme continues.....

So as some of you may know, I've been talking to co-worker of mine over the last few weeks. Things were going great. Key word: were. Girls are fickle I guess, but her being 20 doesn't help much either. Great girl, I somewhat fell for the facade of her acting older than she really is. But, I still do enjoy spending time w/ her. But, she dropped something interesting only after a day or two of chillin' together. No chemistry. Odd, but okay. I think she, like most younger and/or screwed over girls, suffer from a Self Fulfilling Prophecy. They want something to fuck up so bad or are waiting for it, something happens and then their thoughts are justified, leaving them with an easy mental justification. Seen it before, most of you can guess who did that back when, especially with the age of 20 being the theme here.

But live and learn. I said my piece to her today and she realized where I was coming from. Too bad this all took place over text messages. I always snickered at articles regarding the downfall of communication, dismissing them as people that are holding onto the past. However, texts and IM's can really, really botch a situation. You can't tell emotion from one of them, they're only words. Not even a "!" can help. So we'll see where it goes from here. I love the dramatic, so this is going to be an interesting next few weeks. I'll be sure to keep yall posted with everything.

Today I have to attend the service for Aunt Violet and tomorrow the funeral. RIP to Aunt Violet. Funny how things don't hit you until a random thought, vision, etc. comes up and then it's just like, "Damn....." I spent last Sunday evening at the funeral home with cousin John and Ron Sr. What hit me the hardest was seeing John w/ her purse. Man, what a sight. Different things hit different people in totally different manners. We'll miss you Aunt Violet. At least now you're up with Grandma, maybe going at it a bit with one another like old times.

The end to a dramatic week, hopefully things'll even out, they always seem to.

Gay, no embedding, but a good song that always makes me think.

Can't get much more random than this

While pickin' up a pack of jacks at the 7/11 near my office, I was accosted by a random black dude outside. I don't know that this is a common thing, however, I would assume it works real well.

Bought said jacks and then dude followed me outside. He proceeded to ask me for a cigarette knowing that I just bought a pack. Great move? Well, I got tired of hearing his pleading for a jack so I gave him one. However, this is the strange thing, he ripped it in half. And then on top of that, he proceeded to ask me for another one.

Talk about the gift horse in the mouth.

Here's a little funk for everyone, great summertime jam:

I think the worse thing about these older videos are the comments. Read them for a kick if you realize the funny.

This is why I didn't want to return to the computer realm...

Oh Cox Communications, how I have loathed thee over the last few days.

For those that know, my internets AND cable have down been down since Thursday afternoon. I didn't really get all nasty regarding the internet. The main issue is that I couldn't pay bills, but nobody's in a hurry to do that anyway. My main gripe was my TV.

I bought a nice (then) TV to treat myself because I enjoy it's comfort. Call me a loser yes, but TV helped create this person that you all know and love so much. I couldn't even get 4, 5, 7 and 9 for God's sake! All because Cox decided to have an internal audit and fuck up existing clients' services. I'm going to have a nice convo w/ a rep tomorrow regarding this. Probably not.

Blah, but I'm back and it does feel good. I'm tempted to run the TV all day, just because.

Oh and look for me to be posting some YouTube vids this week, as Fort and I decided that slapping each other was a good thing after some gin. These are great vids in the sense that any girl that dates me shouldn't have to worry about domestic violence, I slap like a 9 year old girl. :o

I'll leave yall w/ this:

This was an amazing show. Fort brought this up while chillin' in Richmond.

Coldplay and Lil Wayne :ugh:

For the life of me, I cannot find the attraction to either of these acts.

I had always heard of Coldplay, but never any of their music. I kept getting them mixed up with Coldcut, which is two DJ's on the Ninja Tune label (more on that later). But, I saw and heard them for the first time last week on the Today show. Holy mother of suck. I don't know if it's a trend thing or what, but damn, next to Jay-Z these guys were the most uninspired performance I had ever seen. It's almost quasi-emo rock or something, but blah, I hope their time passes soon.

I don't care how much success in life you've attained, if anyone has a facial tattoo, they've lost. Lil Wayne could stand to go back to his original days. He wasn't even that good bad then and super nasil, however, he's worse now. People go around claiming he's this, that and the other, however, I cannot find his greatness. Course, this goes for most things these days. I'm sorry to keep harping on the same stuff, but it's usually on my mind.

Speaking of Coldcut for those that don't know:

Bear with the weird intro, but give it to the 1:00 mark. The beat finally drops and you hear some good shit. An ill snare and drum bass filled basic beat. How hard is that to make these days anymore? Granted they love some electronic type recently, but still better.

This is a cool video and song. I highly recommend Roots Manuva. He's been called the European Ghostface Killah. It's fitting:

Sorry to be a song whore, but I'll leave you w/ some chill, beatnick stuff:
